Dr. Uwa Onyioha Osimiri

My name is Dr. UwaOnyioha-Osimiri, and I am the President of the Chiist Higher Learning Corporation (CHLC). This organization is the accrediting body for ChiistUniversity , for which I am the founder and Chancellor. It is also the umbrella corporation for Global Faith Ministries of Chiism (GFMC) and the African Women Economic Consortium (AWEC).

I have earned numerous Awards for hmy work in religion, business, and education. I serve on the Advisory Board for the Women Federation for World Peace. I am a member of the Emerging Minority Businesses Council of Michigan, and received a Certificate of Tribute from Governor Jennifer Granholm a few years ago. I also received an educational citation (Friend of Education, Michigan ) and several Spirit of Detroit and Wayne County certificates of recognition. I was nominated for Faculty of the Year Award at the University of Phoenix where I am an Advanced Certified Faculty in the Department of Business Administration. I was featured in the Detroit News as One of Michigan’s Most Influential Women.

I was an official delegate to the United Nations World Council of Religions for Peace (WCRP) first Africa 's Most Senior Religious Leadership Conference on HIV/AIDS and Orphaned Children. It was held in Nairobi Kenya , on June 9-12, 2002 . An Ambassador for Peace, I participated at the International Leadership Conferences sponsored by the Federation for World Peace, in Washington , Hawaii and Virginia.

I initiated the AWEC Village of Hope in 2005, a housing initiative to affect the care of African orphans. Partnering with Joe Byers I accepted the role of International Program Director for the AWEC Village of Hope Joe Dome Project with land that will house this proposed initiative in NkporoNigeria .

I conduct women empowerment workshops including the “Write Your Own Story” workshops of which I have conducted for Chrysler Corporation, as well as the Youth Empowerment Series (YES) workshops. I have lectured at Wayne State University , Oakland University , Michigan State University, University of Phoenix , Emory University and countless secondary and grammar schools in Michigan .

I hold a doctorate in World Religious Studies and in the final year of completing my academic work for a second doctorate degree, this time in Clinical Psychology with a focus on Intelligence and Psychological Testing.

I am married and live with my husband Ikenna, and a Silk Terrier named Chi Chi in suburban Stone Mountain Georgia , USA . We have 3 adult children (Adaora, Nnamdi and Kelenna).
